Not Forgotten: The Yorktown Seniors of 2020

Yorktown Senior Portraits

I liked Anna the moment I pulled up. The best stocking stuffer I got for Christmas last year was a book of quotes from Greta Thunberg. We have have failed the environment in so many ways it makes you want to cry. It’s up to this generation of student activists to save what we have destroyed. Here’s Anna: “It is crazy to think that just a few months ago I was able to be surrounded by thousands of fellow climate activists at the Student Strike in DC. If anything, this past month has shown me the importance of community and coming together to make a difference, just like I was doing at these marches months ago. Not only has this pandemic robbed my class of countless memories, but I have also had to drastically change my future plans (up until yesterday, I was planning on moving to Scotland in the fall). While these times are undeniably tough, I am learning to be grateful for all that we do have. I will be attending UVA in the fall to study Global Sustainability, and will hopefully continue to fight for the future of our planet." Go to the head of the Class, Anna T.
