Not Forgotten: Yorktown Seniors 2020

Senior Portrait Shoot

The Yorktown Seniors of 2020: Taylor F. Taylor gets a double photo because, we’ll, she deserves it. I couldn’t decide between the adorable Taylor photo as cheerleader or her alter-ego as a future anesthesiologist.

Here she is: “For four years at Yorktown I was on the Varsity Cheer team where I was honored to be captain twice. On the bottom of my cheer shoe (and every cheer shoe I've had) is the Bible scripture from Philippians 4:13: “I Can Do all things through Christ who Strengthens Me.” Because I believe no matter what I do, I always stand and believe the word of Christ. I plan to attend Grambling State University in Grambling, LA, fall 2020, where I will be 3rd generation legacy and Pre-Med/Biology major. I hadn't picked a school for the longest time and I had always talked to my dad about where I was going and what I liked about each school I applied to, and when he passed January 2020, it made the process a lot harder. However, I realized I wanted to go to Grambling State University (my dad's alma mater) because I knew this is where I feel at home and to I intend to carry on his legacy.

For this photo shoot, changed into a white coat which I received from Standford University to show my future as an anesthesiologist. I was selected summer 2019 to participate in a summer anesthesiology program with Stanford pre-med students and professors.

COVID-19 and the past few weeks/months at home have been very humbling and eye opening, yet very tiresome. To say that life can change in the blink of an eye is an understatement. 2020 has been an odd year for me with the unexpected loss of my father to now losing moments that were meant to last a lifetime with my friends.” Let’s salute future M.D. Taylor F!
